About the Pastor
Kenny Gillies became Pastor in June 2014 after being Assistant Pastor for 7 years. His childhood years were mostly spent in Sutherland in the far north of Scotland. A science & theology graduate of Aberdeen University, he seeks to preach with a prophetic edge and see people encounter the transforming presence of the risen Jesus. Kenny combines his pastoral role with being a teacher at Forfar Academy where he has taught chemistry & science since 1997. Married to Lynne, they have three grown-up boys, Stephen, Roddy, and Alasdair.
Bridges is the 3-storey Bridges building owned by the church in the centre of Kirriemuir. In March 2011 Bridges Coffee House opened and is run by the charity Capstone Projects. 100% of its profits support various projects in Uganda including a children’s home, a health centre, a micro-financing venture and a coffee-growing project. This work is overseen in Uganda by Lugazi Pentecostal Church which is found some 30 miles east of the capital, Kampala. Strathmore CF has worked closely with the charity over many years and several people from SCF have been out to Uganda as a result. The next mission trip leaves on March 16 with a group led by SCF Elder, Derek Marshall, flying out for just under a fortnight.
The two senior pastors who oversee the work at Lugazi Pentecostal Church will be with us for a week in May together with their wives – Pastor Tom & Edith Wanyama and Pastor Sam & Gorette Okadi.
