Elim Missions

We exist to
Stand with the sending church
Support the empowered missionary and
to surrender to the spirit

Elim International Missions was birthed in the wake of Elim’s spirit of evangelism and church planting. Missionaries were sent out from 1922, working mainly in Africa in connection with other Pentecostal groups. Originally called The Elim Missionary Society this was founded In 1929. The Second World War curtailed missionary expansion, but in 1945 new developments happened and over the next few years missionaries went out to many countries in Africa, South America and Asia.

Now known as Elim International Missions, we are involved in nearly 50 countries around the world, sending missionaries to many different situations, but all with the same aim of reaching people with the good news of Jesus Christ.

We have over 50 missionaries in 27 countries around the world doing a wide range of ministries and projects. Find out more here

Scottish Elim Missionaries

Over the years Scotland has sent and supported many missionaries across the world. Find out a bit about them below.

Gordon and Sybil McKillop

Gordon and Sybil McKillop

Gordon is married to Sybil and they have three children and seven grandchildren.  Gordon and Sybil come from Motherwell and served with Elim International Missions in the Democratic Republic of Congo for 17 years before moving in 1999 to Nyangombe in the North Western Province of Zambia on the border with Angola and DRC.

Nyangombe Christian Training Centre in Mwinilunga District of Zambia is the only Bible Teaching and Christian Youth Training Institute in over 100,000 square kilometres. Our vision is to present Christ to the Lunda people of this area so that they can come to an understanding of the abundant, fear free life made available in Christ Jesus and live as strong Christians within their own culture.

Howard and Sue Coley

Howard and Sue Coley

Elim Family Fellowship is an Elim España Pentecostal church based in Benalmadena on the Cost Del Sol and supported by Motherwell Elim.

Elim Benalmadena, Spain, was birthed in 2003 by Howard and Sue Coley, initially meeting in a hotel in Benalmadena ministering to the English-speaking community. Their vision has since grown and the Elim Family Fellowship in Benalmadena now has a building to meet in each Sunday and a place for community activities midweek.

Dave Hodgson is assisting Howard and Sue and helping them as they work together to see a healthy vibrant church in Spain reaching out to those who need to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Find out more about the church here.

Derek Chittick

Derek Chittick

We are Derek and Anne Chittick, and we previously pastored Bridge Christian Fellowship in Erskine.

We are now in France, and we are based in the Charente region, which is in the South West, not far from La Rochelle. There are no Pentecostal churches near us, but we are associated with an Anglican Church in the area, as well as being part of the Filling Station ministry, where there are monthly meetings for worship, teaching and prayer ministry. We also are linked to Richard Ellerington’s ministry among surfers in Hossegar, which is about 3 hours journey from here. Find out more about the Surf Church on the Elim International Missions website here.

  • Rehab Centre – Orenburg, Russia

  • Drug Rehab Seminar – Orenburg Pentecostal Church

  • Baptismal Service – In the Urals

Derek and Anne Chittick are also involved in Russia. It all started in 1995, when they were invited to partner with a Pentecostal church in the Urals region, 1000 miles east of Moscow. That partnership continues, and they’re planning a 20th anniversary visit in September. Over the years, Derek and Anne have taken teams there to help the church with mentoring, evangelism, children’s work, Bible teaching, etc, and folk from there have visited Scotland as well.

Since 2009, they have been in partnership with the Salvation Centre, which began in the Urals, but now runs rehabilitation centres in several parts of Russia as well as having just opened a centre for Russian speakers in Texas. Derek and Anne have been excited to see the transforming power of the Gospel in healing broken lives and building marriages and families. Two guys from the Salvation Centre came over to the Elim Conference last year, and led a seminar on rehab ministry in Russia. Download their teaching from Elim’s website here.
